Inflation in India at 7.4%

India manages inflation better than many countries


The Finance minister of India, Nirmala Sitharaman, said that inflation in India is at a manageable level. At 7.4% it is lower than many of the developed countries, however she would take steps to bring it under 6%.

Ms. Sitharaman also noted with satisfaction that the Indian economy is doing better than many countries.

Xi likely to be made China’s President for the 3rd time


During the upcoming Communist Party Meeting, Xi Jinping is expected to be made President of People’s Republic of China for the third time.

The conclave that began yesterday saw almost 3000 representatives of the Communist part in attendance.

Festive cheer to Industry


The upcoming festive season in India has lifted the sales of consumer goods, food and apparel industries across India.

Encouraged by early signs, the trade body mentioned that they expect sales to grow 8-10 % over last year festive sales.

Ethiopian and Kenyan win the Delhi Half Marathon


Chala Regasa of Ethiopia and Irine Cheptai of Kenya won this year’s men and women Delhi Half Marathon respectively.

On Sunday, in a race that saw, the best of the world elite long distance runners,

Regasa won the race with a time of 1 hour 30 seconds, while Cheptai came up with a personal best of 1 hour and 6 minutes to top the women’s event.
